If I had to be honest, I would say that the idea was birthed in 1993 when I got my first computer.  After taking it apart, and successfully putting it back together, I realized I had a knack for it.  I learned what I could and had my starts in Windows NT and basic networking of computers.  I am one of those self taught guys who learn easily.  
 
In 2003, I launched the business by purchasing my domain and email address.  I mainly focused on virus removals and minor computer repair, all the while learning server technologies.  In 2007, while going to college for Information Services, I started working with Dental offices in the Tulsa area as well as other small businesses.  I quickly realized that there was a missing element to IT support and small business.  Small businesses can not afford to have an IT staff yet they need to have help when there is a need, and they can't be down either.  
 
In 2011, joined by my wife Birdie, we went full time with the business. Needless to say, "they" are 100% correct, your first year is the worst!  I almost quit 2 or 3 times, but we stuck it out and started to grow.

It was very plain to me that something was missing.  We can't keep ahead of issues before they happen, or a server would go offline and I had no clue until Monday morning when the staff came in and had no server.  That was when we decided to get into being a Managed Services Provider (MSP). This was the best decision we ever made.  With these tools we can monitor disk space, control windows updates, know when a server goes offline and remote control computers when we needed too. 
Today, we have over 38 small businesses and over 450 devices that we provide managed services to and continue to grow each month. We give God the glory for the growth and favor that we see on a daily basis!
